This exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago explores how Georgia O'Keeffe, an artist from the Southwestern region with an indelible connection to nature, spent her formative years in America's largest city. Before Georgia O'Keeffe turned her gaze to flowers, skulls, mesas and desert sunsets, she captured a dazzling perspective of New York City life—whether looking up at skyscrapers from the street or looking down from her 30-story apartment. "My New York" will show how the city became an important stage in the aesthetic development of one of the world's most iconic artists.

Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings have always been in the market. The works are often filled with subtle variations of tone, forming rhythmic compositions, and in some cases the outer outline of the object in O'Keeffe's painting gives the viewer a sense of lightness and crunchness of the object.
On the walls of Elizabeth Arden's beauty salon was a painting of O'Keeffe's Mandala. The flowers were worth $10,000 in 1936, but Elizabeth Arden loved them. She said, "I want these flowers to bloom boldly and passionately, preferably all over the wall, and when the women open their eyes with makeup, they will feel as delicate as the flowers." ”
Georgia O'Keeffe's most important work is the "Floral Series", in which she studies flowers on a large scale, and her flowers appear to be presented through a magnifying glass, forcing you to look at them closely. She herself said: "When you look closely at the flower in your hand, in that moment, that flower becomes your world." I want to pass that world on to others. People in big cities are in a hurry and don't have time to stop and look at a flower. I'm going to force them to see, whether they want it or not. ”
